BESTHÖVEN-18 YEARS GIG!!!

Well, this gig was fucking nice for many reasons to me...since was the BESTHÖVEN birthday gig and the gig was made with some important bands that in some way have part in BESTHÖVEN work too=helping in some form all these years...
The gig started under a strange climate day/night since we don´t know when it´s raining or not here these weeks...
But fucking nice started with PRISÃO CIVIL band from Taguatinga city, that is a fucking nice punk rock band...in the veins of old RAMONES,PARTISANS,etc...they have played since 1991...and have some cool songs released in some compilations appearances only....they played tons of their songs, from all eras and demos/comps...with a different line up today where Edmilton Cabeção does vocals and bass and with Marcelo Podrera now on the drums!!
Cool punk rock to start this night of noise!!
PRISÃO CIVIL=

The second band from the night are the guys from OS MALTRAPILHOS from Ceilândia city...playing more than 15 years too!! and into brazilian punk rock and hardcore roots like OLHO SECO,LIXOMANIA,FOGO CRUZADO,RESTOS DE NADA,Etc...
Playing songs more focused into their last official cd "Descaso" and some coversongs eventually played for the band!! their line up is concrete and strong many time ago and it is a great thing to them to keep their work still strong and interesting too!!
OS MALTRAPILHOS=

The third at night was GALINHA PRETA from my old friend Frango...GALINHA PRETA plays some brutal hardcore with many grindcore influences!! with inteligent and original lyrics as well!!
tons of songs from their debut comp trax cd!! and new songs too like "Saco de plastico",etc...
Frango voices and performance are the great point in their shows!!

http://www.myspace.com/galinhapreta
Then my friends from Gyn City comes to the stage: DEATH FROM ABOVE with Glauco Mingau (a.k.a. Sérgio Mallandro)in the front line of this D-beat machine!!
With a strong set and with a "non stop" type of playing!! that was fucking amazing!! the band is totally under a cool mass of good influences in the veins of DISCLOSE,MG 15 and classics more of true d-beat roots!!! 2 DISCHARGE coversongs to close the fucking killer set!!!!
DEATH FROM ABOVE was recorded their all show too!! and we wait to see this release coming soon!! since i hear advanced the master and it is killer!!!!!!!
DEATH FROM ABOVE=

www.myspace.com/dbeatdeathfromabove
The last at that night was mine band= BESTHÖVEN...like i said=celebrating the 18 years of DIS-existence!!!!
I choosed a set that captured the all "phases" from the band...songs from first demo, first ep....and each one to remember each record released,etc...including 2 new songs!!=inedit!!! that is "K.I.A=KILLED IN ACTION" and "DROWNED IN FEAR"....Plus coversongs of SHITLICKERS,DISCLOSE and DISASTER!!
The live recording will be released soon in LP(!!!) By the label from my friend Pepe in USA= MIDNIGHT SEA RECORDS!!!
And this gig close the last scenes too for the first BESTHÖVEN dvd video documentary i´m working these last years!!!
(I´M LOOKING A LABEL TO RELEASES THE DVD YET!!! KEEP IN TOUCH!!!!)

MEANWHILE INTERVIEW-2009

They started back in 1989 under the name of DISCHANGE and released some amazing stuffs like the great "SEEING FEELING BLEEDING" Album....changing the name to MEANWHILE and still today in activities making tons of great records!!!
And now some words from this D-BEAT/DISCORE Machine from Sweden!!!

VP.Well,i can´t remember exactly when i hear you by the first time like DISCHANGE back in the past!...i think was in "BLLEEEAAAUUURRRGGHH!!" comp. ep and then in the split ep with EXCREMENT OF WAR...i just remember i was(and i´m still...) totally into DIS bands like DISCLOSE,DISCARD...and you was a great influence to me too...specially for the "dis-logo" in BLLEEEAAAUUURRGGGHH!! ep....
Did you started DISCHANGE back in 1989,i´m right?...and beyond these 2 records i mentioned above and your amazing(!!!) "SEEING FEELING BLEEDING" album...did you recorded anything more with DISCHANGE name?
Jallo: Yes, we started -89. Kenko and me started the band after a NO SECURITY rehearsal. Yes we did 2 demos before the mentioned records.

VP-Why is the reason you changed the name to MEANWHILE?
The name is cauze for a DISCHARGE song same name?
Jallo: There was too many Dis bands around...think that was the reason. And yes, it helped a lot that DISCHARGE got an song called that also...haha...

VP-About the line up...who still is in since DISCHANGE era??
how many difficulty is to you to keep a concrete line up in the band since you something like 19 years in activities?
Jallo: Well, it's still me, Kenko and Jocke. Peter is the "new" guy... he grabbed the bass -96. Michael, our original bassist died -95 (R.I.P). It's not that hard to keep the band together, we only do 4-6 show per year.

VP-what do you are doing beyond MEANWHILE?? others bands? projects? jobs? hobbies?
Jallo:All of us got jobs. Peter is playing in ARCANA and TYRANT.
I got ÄÄRITILA,KRIGSHOT and KVOTERINGEN. Kenko is playing guitar in IMPERIAL LEATHER, Jocke is in ÄÄRITILA and sometimes playing the bass in KVOTERINGEN.

VP-How is the scene in your area? good places to play...great bands did you have played with?
Jallo: Not really...

VP-here in Brazil is fucking hard to find your records...i have just the "THE ROAD TO HELL" CD(That have the DISCHANGE track from BLLEEAAUURRGHH too...)....and others just in tapes....what about your discography??
and the labels you have working with??
where we can find your records??
Jallo: Hmmm... good question. I don't know.
++NOTE=i mean just some labels working with MEANWHILE and here´s 2=

VP-did you tour overseas?? played in others places??
Jallo: We did a couple of shows in Canada. Germany, UK, Belgium, Holland, Norway, finland and some other european countries.

VP-DISCHANGE was totally into "DIS-WAY"...war themes...etc...are you today closed in these facts?? or are you singing about others themes too??
Jallo: No, not closed to war lyrics, but teher are other things to sing about also.

VP-what are your favorite bands?? and influences??
Jallo: It's been the same for me alwyas...DISCHARGE, GBH, early EXPLOITED, and then we of course got great stuff from Scandinaivia also, ANTI CIMEX and RIISTETYT..Huuuh, there are alot of good bands out there.

VP-what do you know about brazilian scene? and what do you enjoy from here?? past and today??
Jallo: OLHO SECO, RATOS DE PORÃO...and of course BESTHÖVEN!

VP-what´s the news from MEANWHILE???
Jallo: Hopefully some shows this year, maybe 1-2 festival shows. Hey, bring us over to Brazil!!

VP-AND NOW THE END...THE END IS NEAR....IS TIME TO SAY....
Jallo: OUR LAST GOODBYES (hehe.. hopefully not!) Thanks a lot for the interview!

PS=I..M LOOKING A LOT FOR A COPY OF "SEEING FEELING BLEEDING" IN VYNIL !!!!....SOMEONE THERE HAVE ONE TO ME I CAN OFFER SOME GOOD STUFF IN TRADE!!!!!!!!(fofão)

WARCOLLAPSE INTERVIEW-2009

UOU!! Really don´t need introduction for this amazing Crust artillery called WARCOLLAPSE!!!!!!
Thay are my favorites for years and years....
This was made with Jalle!!!
CRUST AS FUCK EXISTENCE!!!!!!!!

VP=TELL US A SHORT HISTORY FROM WARCOLLAPSE....WHEN DID YOU START THE BAND...LINE UP...ETC....
W=Me and Emil started it in 1991. We used to get drunk and play grindcore under the the name EARCOLLAPSE. Then we thought "why not a real band?", so the name was changed to WARCOLLAPSE and we started playing the music we really wanted, crusty d-beat. We recorded a 6-track demo called "Misery& Despair" in 1992 and it got some good responses. The line-up was then me on vocals/drums and Emil bass/guitars. Kalle and Janne joined shortly after. Except for a couple of replacements for shorter periods the line-up has remained the same throughout the years: Janne bass, Kalle drums, Emil guitars and myself on vocals.

VP=WHY "WARCOLLAPSE"???
W=During the time of coming up with the name, the "Dis-name wave" was huge with lots and lots of dis-bands and we were rather fed up with all dis-names. However, all those bands sang about war, had war-titles on tracks and records, so the idea to change from EAR to WAR was to take it one step beyond the dis-name trend. To what it's all about; war.

VP=MANY PEOPLES HAVE SAID TONS OF SHITS AGAINST "D-BEAT","DISCORE" AND "CRUST" TODAY...WHAT IS YOUR VISIONS ABOUT THIS??
ARE YOU A CRUST BAND???
W=We're a crusty d-beat punk band. If a band to me sounds good then it really doesn't matter what sub punk genre they're
labeled or claim to belong to. A good thing with genres though is to get a clue on what type of stuff you might except from
a record of a band you haven't heard yet. A bad thing is that genres divides the scene when taken too seriously.

VP=I HEAR THAT JALLE PLAYED IN THE GREAT AND AMAZING CRUDE S.S. IN THE PAST...CAN YOU TELL US SOME GOOD MOMENTS WITH CRUDE
S.S. AND ALL THAT AMAZING SWEDISH ERA???
W=Yeah, but I don't have that many stories to tell really. We rehearsed a lot, probably 2-3 times a week, since there was
absolutely nothing else to do in that shitty little village we came from. We drank beer, rehearsed and listened alot to
Discharge, Anti-Sect, Disorder and Chaos U.K etc. We recorded a couple of demos, played live a couple of times and ended up
on a couple of compilation-albums. Then I quit the band and moved away. Lots of great gigs, records, bands and zines around
then, as it is now. Good times!

VP=AND JANNE PLAYED IN DOM DAR...DOM DAR IS STILL ACTIVE/PLAYING???
W=Yes, he did and DOM DÄR split up in 1991.

VP=WHAT ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES IN WARCOLLAPSE??? AND YOUR FAVORITE BANDS...
W=Too many to list, but DISCHARGE, ANTI-SECT and AMEBIX mixed with Japanese and Greek bands sums our main influences up
pretty good. Favorite stuff includes d-beat, crust, death/black metal and the list could go on... instead of a huge,
neverending list (I'm too hung over), I'll just write down the band that I'm listening to at this very moment:
FRAMTID!

VP=WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BRAZILIAN SCENE?? PAST AND TODAY?? AND WHAT DO YOU ENJOY FROM OUR SCENE???
W=RATOS DE PORAO ruled back in the days! There's been alot of great bands coming out of Brazil throughout the years, not just
punk, but also thrash metal. I like a lot of stuff at present such as BESTHÖVEN, DEFY, DISARM and LOBOTOMIA to name some.

VP=SAY US YOUR COMPLETE DISCOGRAPHY AND NEW UPCOMING RELEASES...
W=Split w/ E.O.M EP
Indoctri-Nation EP
Crust As Fuck Existence MCD
Split w/ DISRUPT EP
Wandering in Darkness EP
Divine Intoxication LP/CD/TAPE
Crap, Scrap and Unforgiveable Slaughter EP
Live Intoxication 10"
Defy! LP/CD
A couple of demos, compilations and videos.
We're working on a new cover EP and this time we will destroy some random scandinavian tracks. We have chosen one track
from each country, but things are moving slow. We're also working on the new album. We thought the album would be
done and out already in 2008 but due to work and life in general, we have had to put it on hold for some time. It'll be
completed, just not as fast as we first thought.

VP=WHO WRITE THE LYRICS...AND WHAT DO YOU TRY TO SHOW IN??
W=I write them, but both Emil and Kalle has been involved in the writings a couple of times (Emil on the track "Drunk,
Collapsed, Destroyed" and Kalle on "Långsam Död"). Some are from personal experiences, while others are my views on war,
religion, mankind, unjustice, society and life in general. I'm a depressed bastard and I suppose that shows through in some
of the lyrics.

VP=DO YOU HAVE AN EP WITH JUST COVERS AND PARTICIPATES IN THE ANTI-CIMEX TRIBUTE ALBUM...HOW MANY IMPORTANT IS TO PLAY
COVERSONGS?? YOU THINK IS GOOD SINCE NEW PEOPLES SOMETIMES START TO KNOW OLD BANDS FROM THAT,ETC...?
W="Crap, Scrap and Unforgiveable Slaughter" was our tribute to bands that meant alot to us in our youths, and still do. So
that one was a dedicated statement of our appreciation for these great bands old records, but also to get new people a chance
to discover these classics. It's not important to do covers, but we like to do them now and then.

VP-ABOUT YOUR CD IN A PERUVIAN LABEL I THINK THAT IT..S FUCKING GOOD CO..Z HERE IN BRAZIL IS FUCKING HARD TO FIND YOUR
RECORDS AND WITH THIS CD MORE AND MORE PEOPLES FROM 3RD WORLD NOW CAN GET THIS AND KNOW BETTER YOUR WORK...WHAT DO YOU THINK
ABOUT THIS??? ANY POSSIBILITY TO TOUR IN SOUTH AMERICA????
W=Yes, Helvetet Records is located in Peru and it felt great to be able to support their scene this way. I agree with you that
stuff should be more available. Especially if you don't have internet access, cause on the www I think all of our records
are downloadable on various sites. MP3 is better than nothing.

We'd love to do a South American tour some day!

VP=AND NOW THE END.......
W=Cheers, beers and thanks for the interest Fofao! Keep up the good work!
Go vegan and stay punk!
